Last Updated: October 28, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Traube Club ("Traube," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you access https://traube.club, use our web or mobile applications, or communicate with us (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy and our Terms of Service.
1. Scope and Controller
Traube Club is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. Contact us at hi@traube.club with any questions or requests.
2. Information We Collect
- Account Information: name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), profile photo, timezone, and other details you choose to add to your profile.
- Event and Profile Content: event names, descriptions, locations, schedules, RSVP responses, polls, media, comments, and notifications you share with others through the Service.
- Contacts and Invites: email addresses or other contact details you provide when inviting participants or syncing contacts. You must only provide information for people who have consented to receive communications from you.
- Communications: messages you send through the Service, feedback submitted to us, and support requests.
- Device and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, product interactions, and referral information collected through cookies, local storage, and similar technologies. These metrics are processed within our own logging systems hosted in the EU to help us keep the Service reliable and secure.
- Payment and Transaction Data: if you purchase paid features, we receive limited payment data (such as billing address, plan selected, and transaction status) from our payment processor. Full payment card details are handled directly by the processor and are not stored by Traube.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- create and maintain your account and provide the Service;
- facilitate invites, RSVPs, and event communication;
- personalize features, provide recommendations, and send in-product reminders;
- send administrative messages, security alerts, and marketing communications (you can opt out of promotional emails);
- provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
- monitor, secure, and troubleshoot the Service;
- analyze usage to improve performance and develop new features; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
We rely on the lawful bases set out in Article 6 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This includes processing that is necessary to provide the Service and perform our contract with you, processing carried out with your consent (for example when you opt in to marketing emails), compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving Traube so long as those interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights and freedoms.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:
- Service Providers: trusted partners who perform services on our behalf, such as Supabase (authentication and data hosting), Vercel (application hosting), and Resend (email delivery). We configure these services to use EU-based infrastructure and require them contractually to process your personal information within the European Union or European Economic Area.
- Other Users: information you publish in events, groups, or messages will be visible to the people you share it with.
- Integrations You Authorize: if you connect third-party accounts or services, we share data as needed to enable that integration.
- Legal and Compliance: to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Traube, our users, or others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, detect fraud, and understand how people use the Service. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies. You can update your browser settings to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent, but some parts of the Service may not function properly without them.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet the purposes described above. We also retain information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may delete events or close your account at any time; residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring, and periodic reviews. However, no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Data Transfers
We operate from Germany and currently process personal information exclusively within Germany and the European Economic Area. We do not transfer personal data to countries outside the EEA. If this changes in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy and implement appropriate safeguards before any transfer occurs.
10. Children's Privacy
Traube is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us at hi@traube.club so we can take appropriate action.
11. Your Choices and Rights
You can update account details, manage notifications, and delete events from within the Service. You may opt out of marketing emails by following the unsubscribe link. Under Articles 15–21 GDPR you also have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to certain processing (including direct marketing), and to request data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at hi@traube.club. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests.
12. Complaints
If you believe our processing infringes applicable data-protection law, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In Germany, you can contact the state data protection authority responsible for your place of residence or work.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. We will post the updated policy on this page and indicate the effective date above. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or within the Service before the update takes effect.
