Sweet Pill – STILL THERE'S A GLOW 2026

Sweet Pill's journey reads like an indie film about youthful ambition and the unexpected turns life takes. Five students from New Jersey bought a decommissioned school bus, fitted it with bunk beds, and set out toward Texas—destination: the legendary South by Southwest festival in Austin. When they arrived in 2020, the world shut down. Pandemic. Lockdown. The festival was canceled. Their return journey was stranded in Baton Rouge for days before the band made it back to Philadelphia. A roadmovie without a happy ending, at least not yet.

From this unexpected landing emerged their debut "Where the Heart Is", recorded at Gradwell House Studio with producer Matt Weber. Released in 2021 on the revered Topshelf Records label, the album explores proximity and departure—the search for home in a world that couldn't offer one. The single "High Hopes" landed in Hayley Williams' podcast, a crowning moment from the Paramore universe. From there, their audience grew organically, tour after tour, first as support for bands like La Dispute and The Wonder Years, later as headliners.

On stage, Sweet Pill unleash the raw power their recordings only hint at. Vocalist Zayna Youssef moves her voice between tenderness and loss of control, guitar lines interweave, rhythm and melody collide and reconcile again. It's that moment in the club when everything shifts—between emo and hardcore, pop and catharsis. Their visceral live sound demanded a raw, direct approach to their new material.

With the 2024 EP "Starchild" on Hopeless Records, a new chapter began. Now comes their second album "Still There's A Glow" (March 13, 2026). The advance single "No Control" is a confession about self-doubt and self-sabotage, about losing yourself. Youssef sings of depression, therapy, the courage to break harmful patterns. The band scrapped nearly a complete album's worth of demos to start fresh—everything created collectively from the dynamic of Youssef, Jayce Williams, Sean McCall, Ryan Cullen, and Chris Kearney. "Still There's A Glow" is more than a second album. It's a document of self-reckoning. The songs blaze, smolder, burn down, yet leave an ember behind—one that still warms.
