Radialsystem celebrates 20 years of operation at its original location, the former Pumpwerk on the Spree River. Since opening on September 9, 2006, the space has evolved into a major hub for contemporary art, performances, and community engagement, continuously reinventing itself as an open venue for art, ideas, and encounters with the unknown.
From September 9-12, 2026, a long birthday weekend festival will feature concerts, performances, workshops, conversations, installations, shared meals, and moments of togetherness. Highlights include the German premiere of "Walden" by Heiner Goebbels, performed by Netherlands-based Ensemble Klang and Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop. The critically acclaimed Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra (also founded 20 years ago) will perform. Sasha Waltz & Guests will present a special version of the choreography "In C" with a specially invited musical guest.
The grounds will feature a new exhibition by Xavier Le Roy, along with diverse programming throughout the venue and surrounding areas. The weekend concludes with a major open house day featuring picnicking, family programs, and activities for curious visitors of all ages. Musical interventions, games, discussions, and workshops will be available throughout the venue and grounds.
Full program details will be released with ticket sales beginning in June.
