Two compelling forces collide in experimental and improvised music. M. Takara and Carla Boregas, a duet creating a mysterious interplay of reduced synth harmonies and agile drumming, deliver a hypnotic performance. Takako plays airy grooves infused with ghost notes refined through bossa and hard bop influences, while Boregas counters with sparse accents and pulsating analog synthesizer textures. Versatile percussionist Dudù Kouate, equally at home in West African musical traditions and Western avant-garde, adds another dimension to their sound.
Saxophonist and flautist Ryoko Ono brings technical virtuosity to progressive rock, hip hop, noise, and R&B, contrasting her lyrical playing with raw textural sounds. Bassist Alexander Frangenheim, a mainstay of the international improvisation scene, brings expressive mastery and vast tonal palette. Together, they represent heavyweight improvisation musicians at their finest.
Doors 8:00 PM, concert 8:30 PM. Tickets €10 at the door only. Supported by The Capital Cultural Fund (HKF) Berlin.
