A rare musical encounter bringing together four visionary artists: Bert Cools (Merope, Hoera), renowned for his ethereal soundscapes spanning folk, jazz, and electronic music; Kjartan Sveinsson, co-founder of Iceland's influential Sigur Rós and composer of soundtracks and opera; Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė, whose traditional Lithuanian folk songs and kanklės interweave with her haunting vocals; and Gyda Valtýsdóttir, former múm cellist and frequent collaborator with Kronos Quartet, Damien Rice, and Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National.
This project emerged from a serendipitous meeting at Justin Vernon's PEOPLE-Festival in Berlin in 2018, evolving into a series of intimate concerts in 2020 with Shahzad Ismaily. The result is a transcendent sonic landscape—Lithuanian folk mysticism, Icelandic minimalism, and ambient textures dissolving into one another.
