About the event

Kiki Rockwell

Kiki Rockwell's music tells stories of history's forgotten heroines – burned witches, Greek mythology protagonists, and European fairy tale characters. She's created her own sonic world, musically processing her powerful rage.

A true world citizen: born in San Francisco, raised in Germany and New Zealand, now living in Auckland. After success with band The Leers, she began her solo career. Following a painful breakup, a storm cut her internet connection – alone at home with just her guitar. In this intense solitude, an inner dam broke, and she wrote song after song.

She taught herself production and released debut EP "Bleeding Out In A Forest" (November 2021), combining blues, world music, folk, and medieval rock. Her debut album "Rituals On The Bank Of A Familiar River" refined her universe – single "Burn Your Village" celebrated as an anthem of female rage.

Second album "Eldest Daughter of An Eldest Daughter" addresses women's struggle against male power structures. In Rockwell's world, women always win. Despite angry messages, the music maintains dark beauty.
