Jessika Kenney & Niloufar Shiri | Zosha Warpeha

About the event

An intimate evening of experimental and traditional music at KM28 featuring three distinctive voices exploring the intersection of composition, improvisation, and oral tradition.

Jessika Kenney & Niloufar Shiri present a collaborative duo blending voice and kamancheh, the Persian bowed lute. Kenney is an internationally acclaimed vocalist and composer known for her spellbinding timbres and deep engagement with oral traditions across sound installations, film scores, and electronics. Shiri, born and raised in Tehran, is a kamancheh player and composer whose work navigates the borderland between traditional Iranian music and experimental sound.

Zosha Warpeha performs solo on the Hardanger d'amore, a Norwegian stringed instrument, creating meditative spaces where contemporary improvisation meets folk traditions. Their work invites listeners into quiet, contemplative listening.

This program celebrates three artists who resist easy categorization, each bringing rigorous artistic vision and cultural depth to their respective instruments. Expect an evening of subtlety, technical mastery, and genuine artistic exploration.
