About the event
The second day of Induction+, a two-day festival celebrating saxophonist John Butcher's 65th birthday, continues with Berlin's vibrant Echtzeitmusik (real-time music) community. This evening features an evening of experimental improvisation, bringing together some of the city's most inventive musicians.
The program showcases a series of intimate duos:
John Butcher (amplified saxophone) & Liz Allbee (trumpet, electronics) — combining Butcher's signature amplified approach with Allbee's hybrid instrumental-electronic language
Andrea Neumann (inside piano, mixer) & Burkhard Beins (amplified percussion) — exploring the intersection of prepared piano and kinetic sound-making
Jessie Marino (fiddle) & Werner Dafeldecker (electronics) — bridging folk-influenced string playing with contemporary electronics
Closing the evening is the full Sextet, bringing all the musicians together for a collaborative finale.
Doors open 20:00, performance begins 20:30. This is a donation-based event celebrating free improvisation and experimental music traditions in Berlin.
