Etran de l'Aïr is a Tuareg family collective from Niger that creates one of the most hypnotic and immersive sounds in contemporary world music. Built around interwoven electric guitars, their music blends the deep-rooted Saharan guitar tradition with pan-African rock influences, creating patterns that feel both ancient and modern. Their signature sound hovers between surf-rock psychedelia and meditative world music, with repetitive, trance-like guitar arrangements that evolve gradually, pulling you deeper into their sonic landscape.
The group is known for their improvisational approach and tight family musicianship, with members passing guitar lines back and forth in intricate, hypnotic weaves. Their music has been described as a bridge between traditional Tuareg sounds and contemporary global influences, maintaining a distinctly Niger-rooted aesthetic while embracing experimental rock textures.
Doors open at 19:30 with the show starting at 20:30. Minimum age is 16. This is a rare Berlin date for one of the most compelling voices in world music today.
