Tenorsaxophonist Tobias Delius and pianist Michiel Scheen unite in this intimate duo performance, delivering improvisations that weave together spontaneity and carefully crafted compositions. Their partnership began in Amsterdam in 1984 and has evolved into a remarkably refined artistic dialogue.
Their music transcends genre boundaries, moving fluidly between free improvisation and original works. Whether exploring uncharted sonic territories or drawing from their shared musical memory, every moment is present and alive. Scheen's precise, architecturally sound piano voicings provide the perfect counterpoint to Delius's lyrical and searching tenor saxophone lines.
This performance captures the essence of modern jazz chamber music, where two deeply listening musicians create conversations of extraordinary depth and nuance. Doors open at 15:00, concert begins at 15:30. Supported by Berlin's Senate Department for Culture and Social Affairs.
