A Rap Workshop by the SISTER*QUEENS
About the event
Join a feminist hip-hop workshop series celebrating creative power and political expression. This is a safe space for girls, trans*, inter*, non-binary, agender individuals, and women to come together and explore hip-hop as a tool for empowerment and social critique.
What to Expect
Led by MC Josh (a Black, non-binary rapper known for socially critical lyrics addressing racism and intersectional issues) and Denise/Mo Nita (a German-Colombian theater educator and social worker), you will:
- Write your own lyrics and learn performance skills
- Develop vocal techniques and stage presence
- Explore hip-hop history and feminist perspectives
- Participate in a supportive creative community
No prior experience necessary. Drop-ins welcome, though the facilitators hope to build a permanent crew. Workshops run every Wednesday for four months, creating space for deep creative work and collective growth.
