Myles Sanko brings his soulful artistry to Gretchen as part of the club's 15-year anniversary celebration. The UK-based soul and jazz artist—born across Ghana and France—returns with the warm, sophisticated sound that defines his music. His latest album, "I See My Light" (his seventh), showcases the evolution of his craft: layered soul grooves meeting jazz sophistication, with subtle hip-hop textures woven throughout.
Expect an evening of genuine musicianship. Sanko's live band brings the depth: Tom O'Grady on keys, Ric Elsworth on drums, George Chasmore on guitar, Jon Mapp on bass, and Gareth Elsworth handling saxophone and flute. Together they create something rare—music that feels both introspective and grooving, intellectual and deeply human.
The night opens with DJ Sean Steinfeger setting the tone before the main set. Doors open at 19:30, and the show kicks off at 20:30.
This is Gretchen's milestone year, and they're marking it by bringing artists who embody what the venue has always championed: genuine, innovative, and heartfelt performance. If you appreciate soul music that respects your intelligence and moves your body, this is essential.
