Since 1998, Greg Anderson and Stephen O'Malley have pushed the electric guitar to its limits as Sunn O))), transforming a simple power chord into a primordial drone that consumes rhythm and conventional form. Their performances are immersive sound baths, cloaked in fog and volume—devotional, overwhelming, and utterly hypnotic.
The Seattle legends return with a self-titled album on Sub Pop, their first full-length for the legendary label. Stripping the project back to its core, Anderson and O'Malley push guitar, bass, and synthesizer to symphonic extremes. The album's recording sessions captured their seismic tones with forensic detail, re-amping them into the landscape itself across vast distances. The result is a hyperdistilled monolith of snarling distortion, glinting feedback, and low-frequency pressure that merges amplifier worship with the rumble of distant weather.
At CTM Festival, Sunn O))) will perform the new self-titled album in full, transforming Silent Green Betonhalle into a seismic chamber of amplified ritual.
