Author Lutz Seiler presents his novel "Das tickende Herz" at the Literarisches Colloquium Berlin. The Suhrkamp publication features a remarkable narrative spanning Europe and Kazakhstan, centered on the fictional Dodo—a nocturnal goat recurring from Seiler's earlier works—and Aysha, a new protagonist from Kazakhstan. The story follows Carl Bischoff's journey across the continent into the Kazakh steppe, where Aysha's community has established themselves on a former atomic testing site, weaving together themes of displacement, belonging, and contemporary European politics.

Seiler will be in conversation with Sandra Kegel from the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung's feuilleton section and Peter Richter from the Süddeutsche Zeitung, with moderator Maike Albath guiding the discussion. This intimate studio format allows for direct dialogue between the author and leading cultural critics, offering insights into his creative process and the novel's rich thematic landscape.
