Sir Bradley is a queer-feminist jazz ensemble that breaks every rule in the book. Spanning a remarkable 40-year age gap, this seven-piece collective—Maria Rothfuchs (bass, composition), Samantha Wright (clarinet), Doro Offermann (saxophone), Rainer Sell (trombone), Lovis Determann (guitar), Annette Kayser (drums), and vocalist Catharina Boutari—crafts something genuinely unique in contemporary jazz.
Their sound weaves modern jazz, free jazz, avant-garde, and indie pop into something restless and electrifying. The compositions pulse with emotional intensity, exploring memory, fantasy, melancholy, and desire through swinging improvisations, groovy passages, and rock-edged statements. This is jazz that demands engagement—intricate, generous, uncompromising.
Doors open at 8 PM; the concert begins at 9 PM. B-flat's intimate stage is the perfect setting to witness a group that transcends generational boundaries and pushes jazz into genuinely new territory.
