Celebrate one of global queer and BIPOC club culture's most expressive and dynamic dance styles at this international whacking festival. Over 100 dancers from around the world converge at Holzmarkt for competitive 2-vs-2 battles, judge showcases, and an energetic open-floor session.
Whacking, rooted in LA's underground ballroom and club scenes, is characterized by sharp, percussive arm movements and fierce self-expression. Whether you're an experienced dancer or simply curious about the style, this is a spectacular showcase of artistry, technique, and community.
The festival runs August 14–16, with the main event on Saturday featuring the most intense competitions and performances. Doors open at 17:30, preliminaries start at 15:30, and the evening continues until 01:00. Come for the impressive choreography, stay for the unforgettable energy.
