Celebrate the 75th birthday of visionary violinist Jon Rose with an international ensemble of improvisers exploring "rogue counterpoint"—independent melodic lines and timbres that transcend traditional harmonic structures. This special Kontrapunkt Berlin concert brings together a remarkable lineup including Jon Rose on violin and tenor violin, Conny Bauer on trombone, Frank Gratkowski on reeds, Meinrad Kneer on bass, and Steve Heather on drums and percussion.

The program draws inspiration from polyphonic traditions spanning from Palestrina and Bach through gamelan music to New Orleans jazz, creating a unique dialogue between classical counterpoint and contemporary improvisation.
