Discover two outstanding jazz ensembles at this outdoor concert by the Spree River. Pallawatsch, led by Austrian-Viennese trumpeter Paul Schwingenschlögl, presents "a playful conclusion to a musical autobiography." The nine-piece ensemble seamlessly blends complex arrangements with improvisations, drawing from jazz, ethnic, and African rhythmic influences to create an energetic and unpredictable performance.
Following them is ABSOLUTELY SWEET MARIE, a five-piece brass ensemble formed in 2012. This group takes an innovative approach to the extensive works of Bob Dylan, reimagining his compositions as instrumental jazz arrangements. Their interpretations range from intimate chamber-like moments to dense collective improvisations, creating a rich spectrum of timbral colors and grooves.
Both ensembles showcase the creative freedom and musicality that define contemporary jazz, making this a perfect evening for jazz enthusiasts seeking fresh interpretations and bold musical conversations. The outdoor setting at Alte Kita adds to the relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere.
