Die Sterne return to Astra Kulturhaus with their "Wenn es Liebe ist" tour, presenting their latest album that blends familiar indiepop moments with unexpected reinventions. This masterwork combines German and English-language tracks, post-punk influences, and vocal contributions from Dyan Valdés alongside frontman Frank Spilker's distinctive sharp and witty lyricism.
The new record captures Die Sterne's trademark sound while showcasing fresh material. The lead single "Ich nehme das Amt nicht an" exemplifies their approach: a powerful riff-driven rock anthem inspired by legends like Jack White and T. Rex, paired with Spilker's characteristically incisive social commentary. The song confronts our era's drift toward irrationality, fact-denial, and heated discourse devoid of argument, all delivered with Die Sterne's signature blend of precision, irony, and cultural observation.
For over 30 years since their 1990s emergence, Die Sterne have remained one of Germany's most vital voices in pop music. Their keen eye for societal observation, political wit, and poetic sharpness have set standards that continue to influence the landscape. "Wenn es Liebe ist" proves they remain uncompromisingly relevant.
Doors open 18:30, concert begins 19:30. Presented by Greyzone Concerts.
