Burnt Friedman brings an extraordinary exploration of rhythm to silent green Kulturquartier. Secret Rhythms presents rare and never-before-heard odd-meter grooves and sequences, arranged live with synthesizer and mixing desk, distributed through a multi-channel sound system throughout the Kuppelhalle.

Rather than approaching rhythm as a style or cultural reference, Friedman treats it as a physically felt movement. This practice, developed through his 17 years of collaboration with Can drummer Jaki Liebezeit, allows seemingly complex cyclical patterns to be experienced as natural, harmonious relationships. The result transcends cultural idioms, opening into a trancelike, expansive sonic space.
