The twelfth installment of the Kunstbibliothek's BUCHSALON series brings together curators Maren Wienigk and Michael Lailach with designer and author Günter Karl Bose for a discussion about books and the craft of typography.
Bose brings a distinguished career spanning publishing, education, and book design. He founded Brinkmann & Bose publishing house in Berlin (1980–1995) and later served as Professor of Typography at the Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig (1993–2018), where he directed the Institute for Book Art since its founding in 1955. His extensive publications explore the history of literature and media.
During this conversation, Bose will reflect on his experience as an educator, the special book projects created by his students, and the legacy of the Institute for Book Art.
Free admission. Refreshments provided. Meeting point: Foyer of Kulturforum.
