THE PRESSING is a solo performance by choreographer and performer Dani Brown that reclaims and subverts language through movement, voice, and choreography. Brown transforms a provocative word into speculative artistic matter, creating a queer, intimate, grotesque, and humorous performance universe.
Through movement, monologue, and song, the imagined entity appears as a diva, oracle, director, and performer simultaneously. Accompanied by an immersive soundscape by Justin F. Kennedy and framed by a vanitas-inspired stage environment, Brown's body travels through human and non-human states: animalistic, botanical, mythical, iconic.
This is a profound exploration of language, embodiment, and artistic transformation that challenges how we think about representation and performance itself.
