Sunn O))) returns with their new self-titled album, their first full-length for Sub Pop. The Seattle drone duo, Greg Anderson and Stephen O'Malley, will present the album in full, transforming Silent Green's Betonhalle into a seismic chamber of amplified ritual.
Since 1998, Sunn O))) has distilled the metal power chord into primordial drone. Their performances unfold as infernal sound baths, devotional and overwhelming in equal measure. This new self-titled work strips the project back to its core, pushing guitar, bass and synthesizer to symphonic extremes.
The album features forensic detail and hyperdistilled production, built from well over a hundred guitar tracks per song, merging amplifier worship with low-frequency pressure. Expect a communion of volume, air and elemental drone. Support tba.
