Two powerful improvisers from across Europe converge for an evening of collective creation. Phil Minton, a legendary British vocalist known for his abstract and experimental vocal techniques, joins forces with Ignaz Schick, a distinguished German alto saxophonist. Alongside them perform Saadet Türköz, a Turkish-Swiss vocalist and lyricist, and Anaïs Tuerlinckx, a Belgian-German pianist and sound preparationist.
This program sits under the umbrella of "Improvisation International" at exploratorium berlin, celebrating the unbounded potential of real-time musical dialogue. Each artist brings a distinct language to the stage: Minton's voice-as-instrument ethos, Schick's textural saxophone work, Türköz's vocality rooted in diverse traditions, and Tuerlinckx's prepared piano explorations. The result is intimate, urgent, and utterly unpredictable.
Before the main performance, join Thomas Gerwin for a soundwalk at 19:00, inviting you to attune your ears to the sonic landscape of Berlin before the concert begins. Doors open at 19:30, music starts at 20:00.
Tickets: 15€ (regular), 12€ (reduced), 6€ (eligible ID holders). Cash only at the door.
