The Internationaler Jazz Workshop Berlin 2026 concludes with a special closing concert featuring performances by the workshop participants. After an intensive week of creative collaboration and learning from world-class instructors, the young musicians present the results of their artistic development on the stage of legendary Kunstfabrik Schlot.
This closing concert offers a unique glimpse into the improvisations and compositions that emerged throughout the workshop week. It's an exceptional opportunity to experience emerging European jazz talent alongside the established faculty members of the workshop. The program showcases diverse approaches to contemporary jazz, reflecting the international character and multi-generational dynamics of both participants and instructors.
What makes this concert special is the real-time presentation of music that was created, developed, and refined during the workshop. These are not polished performances, but rather authentic explorations of how these musicians work together, respond to one another, and interpret jazz in their own voice. The result is an intimate, high-energy evening of music-making.
Kunstfabrik Schlot, nestled in Berlin's storied Edison Höfe, provides the perfect setting for this workshop finale. This historic venue has long served as a vital hub for contemporary European jazz, celebrated for its warm, artist-friendly atmosphere and unwavering commitment to presenting innovative and forward-thinking music.
The closing concert welcomes everyone interested in jazz and musical creativity. Admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted. No reservations are required — seating operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open one hour before the concert begins.
