Join Dr. WhiteFeather Hunter and Helen Yung for an urgent conversation about how reproductive biomaterials—especially those sourced from AFAB bodies—have become contested sites of scientific innovation, economic extraction, and political struggle.
Through artistic practice and critical inquiry, the speakers examine how bodies, specifically menstrual stem cells, eggs, and embryos, are positioned within biotech industries and IVF frameworks. Rather than celebrating reproductive technology, this session asks: who benefits, and at what cost? How do artists and thinkers resist the reduction of reproductive labor and biology to pure capital?
This is a moment to think seriously about biocapital, bodily autonomy, and the role of art in challenging extractive narratives. Perfect for artists, researchers, biotech workers, and anyone thinking about the future of reproductive justice.
Part of Art Laboratory Berlin's IN PROGRESS… series. Online via Zoom (registration link coming soon).
