Israeli pianist and composer Ido Spak brings his distinctive trio to b-flat for an evening of progressive jazz that draws deeply from both the Middle East and Western classical traditions. Performing with bassist Jan-Gerrit Lütgering and drummer Andi Rohde, Spak creates what he describes as "jazz metal" — energetic, boundary-pushing improvisations without the typical guitar.
His musical language blends Oriental landscapes with European classicism and American jazz idioms, creating something genuinely singular. His recent album "Desert Prince" channels the raw beauty of desert imagery, and the trio is currently developing material for his next project, "Apocalypse Next Tuesday."
This is the kind of performance that b-flat specializes in: intimate, serious, and full of artistic vision. Doors open at 20:00.
