Actor and singer Alexander Scheer presents an unforgettable evening celebrating David Bowie's musical and literary legacy. This hybrid between reading and concert traces Bowie's artistic influences through his extensive personal library of approximately 1,500 books, exploring works by Dante Alighieri, Christa Wolf, and Alfred Döblin that shaped the pop icon's creative vision.
Scheer performs iconic Bowie hits alongside readings from the artist's favorite literary works, accompanied by a live band, live drawing by artist Reinhard Kleist, and live video projection. The production is a celebration of the artistic symbiosis between literature, music, and visual art that defined Bowie's creative process.
Set at the Berliner Ensemble—a venue Bowie himself frequented during his Berlin residency from 1976 to 1978—this intimate tribute honors both the legendary artist and the city that profoundly influenced his work. An evening perfect for those who appreciate the intersection of theatre, music, and cultural history.
