A Swiss Summer Evening of Literature and Performance

Literarisches Colloquium Berlin hosts a celebration of contemporary Swiss writing and performance. The evening brings together three distinct voices in a carefully curated program exploring language, storytelling, and cultural identity.

Readings & Conversation

Julia Weber opens the evening with readings from her debut novel Weil ich Ruth bin (Limmat, 2026), a work that navigates themes of personal transformation, escapism, and the tug of longing. Béla Rothenbühler follows with selections from Polyphon Pervers (Voland & Quist, 2025), a sharp, satirical exploration of two theater producers attempting to navigate the cultural landscape of a small Swiss town.

Live Performance

The program concludes with an experimental music-text performance by Bern-based duo Fitzgerald & Rimini. Featuring Ariane von Graffenried's text and voice alongside Robert Aeberhard's composition and bass, this interdisciplinary moment bridges the gap between literary and sonic expression.

Das Helvetische Fest is an annual gathering that celebrates Swiss literary culture beyond Switzerland's borders. The evening is supported by Pro Helvetia and the Swiss Embassy in Germany, reinforcing the cultural exchange between Berlin's vibrant literary community and Switzerland's contemporary authors and artists.
