🎪 The 39th edition of transmediale explores the re-figuration of systems, cosmologies, and technologies along the metaphorical coordinates By the Mango Belt & Tamarind Road.

The verbs Compassing (locating oneself), Metaphoring (weaving images), and Protocoling (writing procedures) stand for possibilities of action to weave a variety of recipes with the root code of our systems.

In this context, the festival asks questions like: Is your imagination hungry? What currents determine our feeds? What lies at the origin of our codes?

transmediale 2026 imagines the festival as a living, recursive carrier network – a hammock of relational technologies in practice, spanning across latitudes, rhythms, and root systems, taking place from January 28 to February 1, 2026 in Berlin at silent green Kulturquartier as the main festival venue.
