About the event
🎺 One of Berlin's Most Exciting Contemporary Jazz Ensembles
BLUME is one of Berlin's most thrilling contemporary jazz ensembles, led by visionary trumpeter and composer Magnus Schriefl. Since 2013, the band has captivated audiences at renowned festivals like XJazz, Kollektiv Nights, and Jazz in der Kammer. Instead of retreating into a narrow greenhouse, Blume seeks organic forms of growth, creating music characterized by curiosity, openness, and vibrant transformability.
The music draws clear references to jazz and the hipness of Afro-American musicians like Thelonious Monk and Duke Ellington, recombined with global musical influences. The pieces are marked by melodic clarity, rhythmic energy, and a fine sense of humor.
