🎵 The Montreal-based songwriter Patrick Watson should be known to everyone by now, especially since his song Je te laisserai des mots went viral on TikTok. With lots of piano, a great band, and his crystal-clear, melancholic voice, he gives everyone goosebumps. Watson loves being able to play and especially sing live again.

In winter 2023, he suddenly woke up to find he had lost his voice. A blood vessel had burst in his vocal cords, and he couldn't speak for three months. This moment now opens the new album.

A composer and songwriter who has written and recorded over a dozen film scores can manage without his own voice for a while. When his voice was fully functional again, it became a hybrid: Watson often lets female singers like Charlotte Cardin, Martha Wainwright, MARO, La Force, or November Ultra take the lead, but also sings himself.
