🎷 DownBeat Artist of the Year - ZigZag Debut!

James Brandon Lewis is currently one of the most in-demand and celebrated tenor saxophonists on the international jazz scene. Freshly named Artist of the Year in the DownBeat Critics Poll, Lewis appears this evening in an intimate trio setting.

His approach—deeply rooted in the African American musical tradition—recalls the creative force and spiritual energy of John Coltrane or Sonny Rollins. He is joined by bassist Josh Werner (Marc Ribot, Wu-Tang Clan, Robert Glasper) and drummer Warren Crudup III, one of the leading drummers on the New York jazz scene.
