🏝️ Exploring Private Art Collections at Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg

On the occasion of the 100th birthday of Dieter and Hilde Scharf, this exhibition explores the collecting passion of the couple and their daughter Julietta Scharf, showcasing works beyond the permanent collection.

🎨 The Exhibition
Approximately 150 paintings, watercolors, drawings, prints, sculptures and objects from famous artists like Alfred Sisley, Auguste Renoir, Egon Schiele, Max Beckmann, and Hannah Höch, alongside lesser-known creators of fantastic art.

📚 12 Thematic Islands
Exploring ways to encounter the threats and challenges of daily life through art: retreat into idyll, privacy, or another time; creating personal image worlds; fantastical escapes; and ironic approaches to death.
