Originally premiered in 1997, Sasha Waltz's Zweiland returns to the stage for the first time in over a decade. This haunting choreography explores "Images from Germany" through rhythmic movement sequences that reflect Berlin's post-reunification atmosphere, weaving together themes of unity, separation, and despair through absurdist imagery and century-spanning German songs.
The production features seven performers interpreting songs in German, creating a poetic journey across contemporary and historical landscapes. With its stark staging and powerful movement vocabulary, Zweiland captures the fragmentation and hope that defines modern Berlin.
Duration: approximately 65 minutes
Note: The production contains abstract depictions that may reference themes of violence.
