Bosnia and Herzegovina, July 1995: in the space of five days, more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslim boys and men are murdered, even though the city is a UN safe zone at the time. More than twenty years later, photographer Armin Smailovic and director Branko Šimić, both from Bosnia and Herzegovina, explore the past with their documentary theatre project. This project combines documentary reporting, personal fates and political context to bring the biggest war crime in Europe since World War II onto the stage.
