Heroines of Sound is a feminist-agenda festival celebrating FLINTA artists in experimental music and sound art. Day 1 opens with Anouk Kellner's sound art installation "Airchoir No. 2: Dirges for (26) Coded Organ Voices" (17:30), exploring algorithmically organized vocal and organ sounds that oscillate between collective memory and machine articulation.
The evening features electronic artist Kyoka premiering "Motion Scapes" (20:00), a live performance using a newly developed cybernetic apparatus to transform genetic traces from the environment into sound processes.
The young ensemble Spółdzielnia Muzyczna from Krakow presents an experimental program (20:00) including world premieres by Yoko Konishi, Barbara Zach, and others, exploring dynamic contrasts between brutal noise and delicate textures, sound-image relationships, and the intersection of traditional and contemporary music.
The evening concludes with Miako Klein and Jia Lim's "Nova Atlantis" (21:30), a multimedia set weaving Baroque aesthetics, cutting-edge technology, and virtuosic improvisation across layered temporal planes.
