About the event

🎺 Living Legend - Architect of Funk Music

Fred Wesley is a living legend. As one of the architects of funk music, he has played with virtually all the great names of soul and R&B: Ray Charles, Count Basie, Maceo Parker, Prince, Usher, Tina Turner, and James Brown himself—for whom he served as musical director with the JB Horns for seven years. As arguably the most sampled horn player in the world, he is also one of the pioneers of hip hop.

With his project Generations, Wesley connects his jazz roots with the young trailblazers who represent the future of music. Originally conceived as a Jimmy Smith tribute, Wesley, organist Leonardo Corradi, and drummer Tony Match connected so powerfully that they decided to continue together on a shared path of pure funkiness.

Their show unites Wesley's immense talent and decades of experience with Corradi's high-energy organ playing and Match's distinctive drumming, which blends influences from African and electronic beats.

Lineup:
Fred Wesley (trombone, vocals) - James Brown's Musical Director, JB Horns
Leonardo Corradi (organ) - Italy
Tony Match (drums) - France

Late Show - Doors 20:30, Show 21:00
