Montreal-based singer-songwriter Dominique Fils-Aimé brings her distinctive voice to Berlin's Gretchen. A double JUNO Award winner and one of today's most captivating jazz vocalists, Fils-Aimé draws from African-American musical traditions to create deeply emotional and socially engaged performances.
Her artistic strength lies in understanding jazz, blues, and soul as stylistic heritage while pushing them forward with her own unmistakable voice and modern sensibilities. Having explored the blues on Nameless (2018), the jazz heritage and civil rights movement on Stay Tuned! (2019), and soul traditions on Three Little Words (2021), Fils-Aimé embarked on a new creative chapter with Our Roots Run Deep (2023). This album received the 2024 JUNO Award for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year and the 2024 Félix Award for best jazz album.
In 2026, she releases My World Is The Sun, continuing her exploration of sonic, creative, and spiritual freedom. The single "Going Home" dropped in November 2025. Fils-Aimé's live shows radiate a search for genuine human connection, forged through her powerful, expressive voice.
She's performed at iconic venues including the Blue Note New York and Los Angeles, Monterey Jazz Festival, Jazz à Vienne, and North Sea Jazz Festival.
