Dana Masters, an American soul and jazz singer now based in Ireland, brings her captivating debut album "Real Good Mood" to A-Trane Berlin. This intimate concert showcases Masters' unique fusion of jazz, soul, funk, R&B, and gospel, all infused with the spirit of deep emotion and joy that defines her artistic voice.
The album, released in May 2024, carries a profound message about celebrating life's goodness even in turbulent times. Dana explains the philosophy behind "Real Good Mood": in a world filled with heartbreak and injustice, we must not let pain become our sole narrative. Instead, we must recommit to celebrating small joys, sharing happiness freely, and finding reasons to cherish life—even if that means just using the good china or popping a bottle of champagne.
This marks Dana's first solo project since touring with Van Morrison as a featured vocalist. Her musical journey began in the deep South of the United States, where her family was deeply involved in the Civil Rights Movement. Her voice carries the weight of that heritage—soulful, resilient, and full of authentic emotion. She has performed for President Clinton, Secretary Clinton, Tony Blair, and even the Pope, presenting a major music documentary on BBC titled "My Name Is Ottilie."
Tonight's performance features Dana Masters on vocals, accompanied by Cian Boylan (piano), Dave Redmond (double bass), and Darren Beckett (drums)—a carefully crafted ensemble that supports her soaring, meditative vocal range.
